We were lucky to visit Crater Lake when we did. The skys were blue and the clouds were light. Considering storms often disappoint park visitors because Crater Lake is completely obscured by clouds and roughly 50% of the time in the winter and early spring. You will often find anywhere between 10-15 feet of snow.
The drive to Carter Lake is enchanting.
From Grant's Pass to Crater Lake is about 100 miles...
From 60 degrees to 30 degrees and 15 feet of snow in just under 2 hours.
